Right Now Is All You Really Have... In This World

We Neither Have The Past Nor The Future To Do Good

But We All Have NOW.... Nothing More Is Certain.

"Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Prov.27:1

Now is the only time in life when you can do anything about anything. The past is finished, sealed,  and recorded in God's unchangeable book of memories and events ... past history.... done. Good or bad, the past is what it is and will always be the same... unchanged. And though it can never be undone, it can be blessed or forgiven ... after the fact, now or some future now. If it is someday repented of and forgiven, it will not be passed or future then, but another day's "now" which is all anyone has. We cannot live in the past, it is gone. We cannot live in the future, it is yet to come. All we really have is the ever present now. Fleeting and short lived, it is here and gone in a split second with the ticking away of time. So don't waste it or neglect it or misuse the opportunity it offers. God does not show us every detail or the timing of His perfect will for our lives, but He does show us what to do NOW ... the next second and one step at a time. We can know the certainty of our next step and next second of God's will for us, but nothing more, except for those things promised in His word. But why should He give us more if we are not willing to take, by faith, the next step now... into the uncertainty of the next hour or day or year by faith? It is only our "faith" which is the "evidence of things not seen". Heb.11:1. God wants us to learn to "live by faith" for our future ... from second to second and step by step
"For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Rom.1:17.

So, "now" is the only time you really have to repent, witness, give, forgive, love, and serve our Lord. But how else is it possible to serve our Lord than to do those good things for people around us.
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath see, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" 1 John 4:20

We can, of course, pray to God and praise Him but we cannot touch Him, hug Him, feed Him, take Him to the hospital, lend Him our car, take him to church, or mow his grass. But we can do those things for Him by doing them for needy people around us. Jesus said it this way...
"... Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matt.25:40.
If we do not serve God, by serving people, here and now, we will not likely serve Him at some future time. Now is all we have and the only time anyone can do anything for God or for people.... is the ever present now.

"Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell and get gain. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even as a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." James 4:13-15.

"For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Cor.6:2
